Off topic: Eureqa - equation discovery with genetic programming

The last week I have tested the equation discovery system Eureqa which uses genetic programming (symbolic regression). Hopefully it may be of some interest.

Wow, read the Google translation. I'm impressed. It is wonderful thanks for sharing. Hopefully Eureqa will not eliminate my job as a scientist!

Hi Siah,

I don't think that there is a risk that your job is eliminated.

The authors of Eureqa wrote the following last in one of their Science paper "Distilling Free-Form Natural Laws from Experimental Data":

Might this process diminish the role of the scientists? Quite the contrary: Scientists may use the process such as this to help focus on interesting phonomena more rapidly and to interpret their meaning.
"""
